Good news for America – a young celebrity doesn’t have to be pregnant to be popular. The same goes for going to rehab, doing time, and getting married on a whim in Vegas. To prove my point, you don’t have to look any farther than the Bradley Center today. Finally, after much anticipation, Hannah Montana came to Milwaukee.
I didn’t go to the concert, obviously (tickets were gone in twelve minutes and I didn’t really have any great desire to pay hundreds of dollars to go to a concert with a bunch of ten-year-olds), but I like Miley Cyrus. She hasn’t done anything tabloid-worthy, other than having the most hyped-up concert of the year.
Another celebrity I admire is Amanda Bynes. She’s a great actress and there’s never anything sketchy about her in the news, either. She’s smart, funny, and entertaining in She’s the Man and Hairspray (a couple of my favorite movies), a big step up from her slap-stick Nickelodeon days.
I really hope these performers avoid Britney Spears’ fate: beginning her career as Hollywood’s good-girl and then ending up, well, you’ve heard. I feel sorry for Britney, and I’d hate to see Miley or Amanda or anybody else be going through what she is right now. I’m not too worried, though, because both of these girls seem to be pretty grounded, and, unlike a lot of celebrities who are constantly in the news, pretty talented, too.
