Newspapers NEED to publicize all ELECTIONS

By Ralph Heun
Thursday, Sep 11 2008, 10:37 AM

Headline should be  ELECTION TODAY  VOTE!

Come on Media. Lead or risk loosing more readers.

A couple of articles in the week preceding the election will not overcome apathy.

It is obvious that newspapers do not do publicize elections as evidenced by the election day Tuesday Journal Sentinel.

There is not a single word in the entire "A" section about the election.

All newspapers need to remind citizens of elections, and their civic duty to vote at all elections.

If you do not vote, you have no right to complain about elected officials, high Taxes or anything else.

In short, vote or shut up.

New Berlin district 4 had a total of 230 voters come to the polling place on September 9.

April 1, 2008 school board and alderman elections drew about 800.

Low election turnout is a serious problem which must concern all of us who care about our country.

Remember September 11 and all the Military who lost their lives since then.
