Peter, Peter, Peter, (think of Betty Davis saying your nanme)

My husband, who is of German descent, thought your blog was borderline racist. I, on the other hand, being one of the few "Mochas" living in Tosa, thought it was hilarious! I am making sure all of my friends read it to see if they can think of anything to add.

But you forgot something...Obama should have a family reunion, order T-shirts for everyone, and take a family portrait on the front lawn of the White House with strains of "We Are Family" playing in the background.

Jen 101, as a Obama supporter, I know many left leaning volunteer's (myself included that give of their time). I think the point is that "We" not "They" will deliver.

Another note to Chris, I encourage people to comment and never

I agree with you, Family Guy. Not much will change. I got up this morning and drove carpool. Packed a lunch for my husband. Walked the dogs. I am trying to get motivated to write a grant application for one of our schools. Later I will write the meeting minutes for another local organization, among the million other things I need to do around the house. After picking my kids up early from school today (so the teachers can collaborate) I will take them to park to collect leaves. After spending too much time at the park, we will rush home and make a warm, yummy dinner. Then I will be off to two meetings at school. Tonight I won't be home to tuck my kids in bed because my meetings will run late, as usual. Nevertheless I will sit with them for a few minutes when I get home and thank God that I have a great life.

90th Street Conservative - I understand your frustration. We couldn't even get enough people to volunteer at the bake sale at the election. The thought of people volunteering to change the country seems so distant. While I listened to the campaign messages and all of those promises, I too couldn't help thinking that the people were listening to a mixed message. On one hand the government will help you, on the other YOU have to be responsible for change. I've always been taught that we live in the greatest nation in the world. In order for our nation to be great we all must serve our families, our communities, and our nation in whatever capacity we can. I am content to wait with eager anticipation to see this new group of volunteers change our country. We can only pray that they will deliver on their promise.

Liberals win. I can accept that. I did notice Barack's comments. He stated that we should not look to government to solve our problems. I find great humor in this. That is all he ran on. He is big government. So, send me my check. I am starting to get lazy. Time to sit back and wait for someone else to take care of me. Time to not take personal responsibility for myself and my family. Time to blame my problems on someone else. Time to disrespect our military. Time to raise taxes. Time to redistribute.

What in the hell happened to the American dream. Work hard, do what is right, succeed on your own.

than Palin's. (400,000 vs 4,000,000)

Pete Is it a tax or a compact? Kind of like, we will let you drill for oil on our land in exchange for X amount of money. Then we will give the money to our citizens. Sort of like Gov. Doyle negotiating a compact with the Indians for gambling and giving the money back to the citizens? I think you are jeolous that Alaska citizens got a better deal.

B. Big Oil charges more for gas

C. You pay more for gas.

D? Who got the money and who paid the money?

Now you know why Palin says Drill, Drill Drill.

The more oil Alaska produces, the more money they get.

Funny you should bring this up.

I had dinner with a friend just the other night that advanced the theory that if Wisconsin’s Governor Squishy ever suggested the taxation of the most profitable corporation in Wisconsin so as to pay a dividend to us he would probably be labeled a Socialist. Maybe even by Chris.

Imagine that.

So, Chris. Speaking of double standards what do you think of Senator McCain’s choice of the Governor of Alaska as running mate?

Was it a good choice or a poor choice? Does excellence come to mind? How about mediocrity?

First of all Palin doesn't have the ability to tax Wisconsin Gas consumers....your attempt to marry the two topics are so far-reaching that it doesn't even connect.

What are your thoughts about the actual Energy Bill that passed that Obama voted for that directly increased profits for oil companies while we paid more at the pump?? Is that ok?

I commend your attempt to try to make a connection between a Windfall Profits Tax and Palin.

I guess it would be fair to assume from your blog that you are FULLY and COMPLETELY against a Windfall Profits Tax here in the lower 48? I would assume then that Mr.Obama's plan to take these Windfall profits won't be increased on the consumer if he becomes Prez?

Hmm? Maybe Obama will just keep that money in Washington instead of returning it to the taxpayers.....where it belongs to help those poor people like Leo DiCaprio, Barb Streisand and P.Diddy? Maybe he can take the Windfall Profits Tax and again try to federally fund ACORN with that additional revenue?

I applaud Palin for making sure the citizens get paid for the intrusion of the oil companies. I guess, if any one is truly in the pockets of the Oil Companies its Obama, he supported the energy bill that gave the oil companies huge tax break while the gas prices here in USA where skyrocketing !

The dramatic connection you made is a bit 'farside' for sure. We should applaud with Palin did with these companies.

Politically motivated increases in gas taxes in our state have created more burden on our prices then anything Palin did in Alaska.
