11 Things Obama can do while President elect

Grow an afro—a big one (like Dr.J from the 76ers) How cool would that be!!!
Take cookies to his kid’s school. Can you image other kids say their dads are doctors or lawyers, “yeah, my dad’s the president” Also, plan a sleep over in the White House.
Ask McCain to be Sec of Defense—talk about reaching across the aisle!
Putting his house up for sale—“it a celebrity’s house and should get extra $$ for that, besides he’s moving up.
Ask Bush to take down all the “Don’t mess with Texas” signs in the White House.
Paint the presidential limo’s white.
Visit New Orleans and hand out $20’s--- then go over to Galveston and do the same—don’t visit Galveston Island.
Suggest giving away all our petroleum reserves, as a free gas giveaway, instead of handing out govt checks. Replenish the oil reserves with cheap Canadian oil (with the Canadian $ so low and oil prices so low, it will be half the price of when Bush top the tanks off.)
Order 4 pair of Alan Edmond shoes, size 13 AAA. 2 Black, 1 Brown and 1 White (golfing)
Take golf lessons (from Tiger Woods), why?? Because you can.
Order address stickers with the new "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" address

Tuesday's predictions

Here are my Tuesday's predictions,

1. Sun will rise before most of us.

2. It will not rain in Wauwatosa on Tuesday.

3. Most of you reading this will have voted

4. Some of you who voted will buy cookies (and they will be good)

5. Most people will wear the "I voted" stickers with pride

6. Many people will wonder if anyone would miss them at work if they played hokkie.

7. There will be a huge rush of media outlets trying first to predict the winner.

8. TV ratings will be the largest for any election ever.

9. The losing side will claim voter fraud.

10. Those who's candidate won will leave their signs out longer than the others.

I remember being 12 and watching the 1972 election with Richard Nixon's landslide.

I wasn't a Dem or Rep and it was on a black & white 12" TV but I got to stay up late and it was cool.

So if you have children, watch it with your kids. It's very rare to see history happen.

Don't forget the ice cream:)

Talk about spreading the wealth check out what Gov. Palin did at your expense.

After Alaska Governor Palin ask for and received a Windfall Profit Tax on Big Oil, Alaska collected an estimated $6 billion from the new tax during the fiscal year that ended June 30, according to the Alaska Oil and Gas Association. That helped push the state's total oil revenue — from new and existing taxes, as well as royalties — to more than $10 billion, double the amount received last year.

While many other states are confronting big budget deficits because of the troubled economy, Alaska officials are in the enviable position of exploring new ways to spend the state's multibillion-dollar budget surplus.

Some of that new cash will end up in the wallets of Alaska's residents.

Palin's administration last week gained legislative approval for a special $1,200 payment to every Alaskan to help cope with gas prices.

That check will come on top of the annual dividend of about $2,000 that each resident could receive this year from an oil-wealth savings account.

Since Big Oil passed that tax on consumers, everyone (over 98% in the lower forty eight) now pay 6 Billion more for gas. Net effect, we (lower forty eight) are subsidizing Alaska to the tune of $6 billion.

Nice to know our higher gas prices gave each Alaska a big fat check.-all thanks to Governor Palin.

With the $150,000 that RNC just gave VP candidate Sarah Palin for a clothes allowance and with Macy’s

great prices, Sarah could be looking really good for the next two weeks.

Maybe, she can even slip (pardon the pun) in a maturity dress in there for her daughter.

Hopefully Macy’s has their fur hooded winter coats in stock.

Scouting Devil's Lake

Scouting Devils Lake

This last weekend, Badger Trails hosted scouts(boys/girls) from all over

Wisconsin. The weekend was full of camping & hiking. There was

also a record spin and dance for the older scouts.

It refreshing to see kids outdoors, enjoying one of the premier attractions

in the state without the need for Cable, itunes, AIM, gamecubes, etc……

It was also good for the adults to show by example the fun that can be

experienced by hiking in trails around Devils lake.

Troop #111 Whitman/West had 11 scouts camping which was large considering with was scheduled

on homecoming weekend.

We were lucky that the weather gods were kind to us and gave us great, rain-free weather.

We in Wisconsin are so very fortunate to have a wonderful State Park that

is so close to enjoy the natural world at it’s finest.

The peak colors weekends are still ahead of us, so if you can, take the ride out

To Devil’s lake and enjoy the best season Wisconsin has to offer.

Scouting is a great way for parents to time with their kids and their kid's friends.

Looks like we again have some weapons of mass distraction

This time, it’s not Weapons of mass destruction that will take

down America, it Mortgage Backed Securities that will bring

Us (U.S) to our knees.

In order to save American, our Government needs another

Trillion dollars to save us.

What is a Trillion dollars anyway, just a small price to pay

for our freedom.

What a bunch of crap!

The same government that championed free markets now wants

the US Taxpaper to cover Wall Street bad bets.

Instead of letting the free market foreign banks feed on the

Greedy US highrolling Banks, the Government is offering a

free pass at our expense.

Ronald Regan must be rolling in his grave!

This is the single largest tax increase in history, (with little

to show for it).

It is being rammed through by a lame duck president with less than

5 months left in his term. The Treasury doesn’t know what they are

buying, how much it will cost, whether it will work and most importantly

whether the US Taxpayer can afford it. The kicker is that they want

no analysis, no debate, no oversight—just a blank check.- in five days!

Time to show some Tough Love and just say no.

Brewers ticket scapers want federal bailout

The Brewers ticket scalper’s union and made a formal disaster request

to the U.S. treasury for a secured line of credit to mitigate future Brewer

ticket losses which are expected on the final home stand of the season.

The Scalper’s union expects huge losses from the next home stand as a

result of the Brewer extremely poor performance in the month of September.

Union President, Anita Loanne said “This is the worst scalper’s crisis I have ever

seen” It’s worse than the Brave’s depression of 1961. Our workers are at risk of

losing everything!” “People don’t realize how important the “scalpers” role in

providing ticket opportunities for those fans with no genuine opportunity to obtain

tickets from the Brewers. If the scalpers are allowed to go out of business, Major

League Baseball in Milwaukee will seriously be at risk.”

Anita finished by saying “It’s though no fault of our own that the prices tanked, it’s

the Brewer’s fault—that’s why we need a bailout”

The Loan request is estimated at $7.25 Million. It’s a small price to pay to ensure

equal ticket access to Brewer fans in the coming years.

The US Treasury will consider the request.

Both Presidental Candidates were unavailable for comment.

Is the Fed insane?

I think the Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke is crazy. First, he said no way to a bail out and now, guess what, the Fed is putting up $85,000,000,000 to bail out AIG. Who losses, the US Taxpayer. Sure, AIG falure would cause huge financial turmoil, but how many more corp bailouts can the taxpayers afford. We can't afford this one.

If we thought inflation was bad now, just wait. The Fed is printing more paper than Kimberly Clark and it's all to bail out the big Wall Street companies, while familes on the brink of foreclosure receive no assistance whatsoever.

What kind of country do we live in that allows familes to suffer while subsidizing corporate incompetence.

It's a sad day for the average joe taxpayer :(

If Chicago ends up hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics these are the following

Sports I would like to have added (to boost the US Medal Count)

Billiards, both single & doubles
Darts, hey the Irish have to win at least one Gold Medal
Arm & Thumb wrestling. Drug test would be manitory.
Competitive Fishing- No poles, just your hands.
Team Leap Frogging. Six to a team, 100 Meter & 400 Meter
Rock Skipping. Both Fresh & Salt water.
Log Rolling, Hey Lumberjacks are athletes too.
Sudoku, talk about head games…
Competitive eating. Time to bring it out of the closet.
Ultimate Frisbee. Hey, if it’s good enough for Tosafest it’s good enough for the Olympics.
Roller Derby- Mens, Women & Mixed. You know you would watch!

Wauwatosa School Board needs a Math lesson

The Wauwatosa School Board needs a math lesson

There are approximately 1,400 students in Longfellow & Whitman

There are 837 student in Longfellow (60%) and 563 in Whitman (40%)

The School Board made a decision to stop offering 2 Eight Grade Algebra

classes in the middle school. Longfellow will only now offer 3 and Whitman 1.

This blog is not about how short sided the policy is of reducing Eight Grade Algebra

Classes. How this will have a detrimental impact on future standardized test scores or why it is another way the district is dumbing down the educational opportunities in Tosa.

No, this blog is about fairness.

If 40% of the middle school students in Tosa attend Whitman, why do they only get

25% of the available seats for Eight Grade Algebra?

I welcome any School Board member or Dr. Ertl to explain the Math.

This doesn’t seem fair to me.

Well ok, he didn’t say Elephant, but what I think he meant was “I am smarter/better than you” by the comment. This tantrum was started when the four aldermen(committee) filled an aldermanic seat vacated by Mayor Didier, with Jill Organ who Mr. McBride thought was less qualified than his choice.

Great way to make friends and influence people, Mr. McBride.

The City is lucky to have a person the caliber of Ms. Organ serving on the board. The City will benefit from her expertise.

The Freshman Alderman Mr. McBride should accept the committee’s decision and welcome Ms. Organ onto the board.

The board needs to work together to get things done and McBride’s temper tantrum show’s they may have a difficult time doing so.

Can’t get enough of the old standards? Then come and enjoy an evening of live music as we continue Appreciating Music Live! Singer Robin Pluer will share standards that range from French songs to Patsy Cline to the Beatles to Tin Pan Alley classics. Alverno music faculty member, Peter Roller will accompany Pluer on guitar and serve as host. The session will also feature Big Band-era singer, Geanne Woodall with keyboard accompanist, Joel Freissinger for an evening of unforgettable music and discussion about a diverse selection of songs that have been universally loved during the past 100 years!

Note: A cash bar will be available.

15,000 Hours of Public Service

Thanks Bernie for giving Wauwatosa over 15,000 hours of Public Service.

Alderman spent at least 10 hours a week on city business (some even more).

Bernie’s been an alderman for over 30 years. 50 weeks x 30 years is 15,000 hours.

When people ask why don’t citizens get involved, some do and do for a long time.

We are very fortunate to have some long standing alderman. Tom Treis is another

citizen who has been serving for a long time.

Woodman’s, and ultra cheap grocery store is opening a new store in

Oak Creek (Howell & Forest Hill ((between Dexell and Puetz).

Why should you care??

Woodman, is like Pick & Save but with better selection and much cheaper prices.

You don’t have to get 24 cans of tomato sauce to get a better price (Sams)

If you are spending over $200/week on groceries, take a ride down to Oak Creek (25 minutes) and see for yourself. Take a friend and rideshare.

Here's a sample of prices: $2.69 for 1% milk, apples (all) $.99/lb, Strawberries 2/$3 (Quart size) Tlipida (fish) $2.99/lb frozen, 100% whole wheat breads $2.49. Florida corn 4/$1 Green Grapes $.99/lbGreat select and they sell reusable bags for $1.25/bags.Only bad thing is longer lines and no credit cards.

Speaking of $$$, I am voting for the firestation. I probably would not have voted yes for it ($12.5 million), but because the city compromised and knocked it down to $11.5 million, it made it more affordable.

I think it’s a good deal for something we need.

Thanks to the Alderman, Birchscel, Hanson, Donegan, Didier, Grimm, Ewerdt & Herzog for not writing a blank check on the Firestation and making it so I can vote yes.

TTS “lite” coming soon to the Web

I heard that TTS is expanding it’s format to include a TTS “lite”

I think this is an exciting development and could be a boost to those

Already enjoying TTS.

TTS “lite” is said to feature new idea’s which will hopefully improve

Some of the shortcomings found on the old TTS site.

TTS “lite” will have the following improvements:

No more being called “newbies” . New posters will be called “Fresh Airers”
Posters who obtain over 100 posts will be asked to change their TTS names (to keep from being considered a “usual suspect”)
Posters are encouraged to agree with other posters. Any poster who disagrees more than three times in a week will have to sit out a week.
TTS “lite” names should be uplifting. Instead of “Rotten Man” TTS lite would prefer “Good Man” or “Mentor”
Whenever a “Fresh Airer” posts for the first time, other posters should send welcoming greetings like “good for you” or “glad you took the time to respond”
TTS “lite” will have an active monitor who will make sure everyone feels good and is happy.
Topics on TTS “lite” will only focus on positive aspects of Tosa to encourage agreement and sense of belonging, instead of isolation and division.

Is dominated by a bunch of blowhards, who are in love with themselves and who obviously don’t know anything about anything”.

Saved by the Bell – The Musical comes to Milwaukee!

For the first time ever, Saved by the Bell the musical is coming

on the Milwaukee Theater on May 25^th. Saved by the Bell, is a

smash broadway hit and is based on the ground breaking TV sitcom

of the same name. Zak, Kelly, Lisa, Slater, Screech & even Mr. Belling

will wow you with the fun, zany high school antics.
