The state of Texas announced that it plans to build 18 high sulfur Coal burning power plants in the coming years. In order to meet the anticipated Texas energy needs of the 21th century, Texas Governor Rick Perry in conjunction with the TXU (state’s largest utility) started the process of “fast tracking” the legal hurdles thru the Texas Legistrator. The Bill needed to fast track the power plant is currently being opposed by over 30 Texas Mayors, including Dallas, Houston & San Antonio.
As the Governor of California (Arnold Schwarzenegger) just signed legislation mandating tuff new Ultra Low emission standards for new California power plants, Texas is proposing New High Sulfur/highly toxic Coal Power Plants which would make Texas the most polluting state in the US.
If the new power plants get built as planned, Texas would produce more carbon dioxide than New York, California, and Pennsylvania combined. The plants are scheduled to come on-line beginning in 2008.
Since Carbon Dioxide is a major by product of Coal burning and is the major clause of Global Warming, Texas may become the Hottest place on Earth.
Maybe the Current Governor of Texas knows something about his past boss George. Funny, when Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called President Bush the Devil he was called crazy. Who knows?
When Bush moves back to Texas in 2008, he may feel right at home.
This story is completely true except that President Bush isn’t the Devil. He may be intellectual challenged, a war monger, who is fiscally irresponsible and morally compromised, but I don’t think he’s the devil. He may have been just the lesser of two evils.

In last night’s Common Counsel meeting, Alderman Vandelay announced an initiative that would request that a George W. Bush’s presidential Library be located in Wauwatosa. Vandelay said “why can’t we combine the renovation of the “Little Red House” and the Proposed “George W Bush’s presidential library” together. The initiative would help raise thousands of non taxpayer dollars for the Little Red House renovation as well as bring additional tourism dollars to the community. Since no other community has yet expressed interest in a “GWB Library” we would be high on the government’s list of consideration”
The Little Red House is the perfect size considering that the current President is not known for reading many books. Vandelay thought it may even be too big. “We could devote part of the Little Red House to the presidential Library (maybe an aisle for his Hardy boys collections and Superman comics and an aisle for his People and Guns & Amino magazines. The rest of the space could be used for Wauwatosa History (whatever that is).”
Vandelay said, “talk about thinking outside the box, this is thinking outside the margins, hee hee.”
The only architectural change needed would be to paint the little red house blue.
The Wauwatosa Women’s Club was unavailable for comment.

AP announced a compromise has been reached between the White House and Congressional Republicans regard language of torture identified in Common Article #3 of the Geneva Convention.
The following language which the White House pushed for will be changed to help in the torture of prisoners held in secret prisons through out the World by the CIA.
Out: Water boarding (simulated drowning) IN: Surfboarding (having prisoners stand on a surf board for hours listening to Beach Boy Music)
Out: Sensory deprivation – placing prisoners in suit without any external stimuli which may cause insanity? IN: Tell the prisoner “I’m done talking” which has been proven to work on most wives that will they ensure that they will continue talking”.
Out: Electrodes to private parts In: Tasters to private parts
Out: Making prisoners strip naked and form a pyramid IN: Taking away their porn channels
Out: Beating the prisoners feet while hanging upside down IN: Making the prisoners wear 3” high heels during simulated dinner parties.
Also acceptable: Nuggies, Wedges, Tity twisters, Swirlies & Indian Sunburns.
The White House hopes that these changes will show the rest of the World that the U.S. knows good torture when it sees it.
This was a joke.
Torture is a serious topic
Support our troops by supporting the Geneva Convention. It’s the ideals in the Convention that helps protect our troops and keeps us civilized in an uncivilized world.

Milwaukee County Zoo tops “Fattest Zoo” List In a recent Forbes survey, the Milwaukee County Zoo ranked #1 In animal obesity. The Survey was conducted sampling the top 100 Zoo's in the US. The survey listed criteria such as weight, height, exercise, diet, amount spent in front of the TV and poop production in their calculation. Forbes survey pointed to late night snacks, such as “Ben & Jerry Ice Cream” and inactivity as items directly correlated to the Zoo's animal obesity. Milwaukee County Zoo official spokesperson Russell Funyon said, the reason may not just be the reasons identified in survey, but the fact that the animals see obese alot of people and think that’s the way they should look. Funyon said “it’s no secret that African animals are skinny (Lions, Cheetahs, Giraffes) and North American animals are fat (Bears, Pigs, Porcupines). This is because it’s cold here and hot there. When you put a giraffe in the cold North America climate, they tend to look like North American animals.” Milw Co. Zoo officials said the public shouldn’t be alarmed and that more research is needed before any conclusion should be made. On another note. Jenny Craig has come out with new menus alternatives for zoo animals.

Packers sign Brett Favre’s Sperm to long-term contract
ESPN has just announced that the Green Bay Packers have just signed Brett Favre’s sperm to a 40 year/ $40 million contract. The contract includes a $5million signing bonus. Bob Harlin, Packers President & CFO stated “this is a great day for the Packer's organization. This contract will ensure the winning tradition that Favre has brought to the team will continue decades from now. We are pleased that Brett & Deanna made this move."
Favre’s sport agent, Ricky MoMoney said “this contract is the first of it’s kind and you will start seeing more of this long-term contracts in the future. After the contract was announced, Packers tickets sales (waiting list) increased by 12,000. Fans that signed on for waiting list can expect tickets approximately the same time as Baby Favre is ready to play.
Naming rights for Baby Favre (which the Packers now own) are estimated
at $8 million.
Details of the contract are still being worked out. The only major sticking point is who the mother would be. Brett wants Deanna, the Packers want Anna Korikovia or Maria Sharapovia.
Critics complained that the Packers may have paid too much. Noah Itlall from the Green Bay Press Gazette said "40Million!, you could have got Joe Namath's sperm for a six pack & a Suzy Culver look alike."

How ‘bout new locations for the firehouse.
I was watching the common counsel meeting regarding the debate on firehouse location, It seems that the common counsel (except for maybe Didier), the City Administrator, Mayor And the Fire Chief are only considering a few location options. (existing, Moyer Ct & Watertown Pk). After going to Tosafest this weekend, I was looking at the parking lot south of the river/Chancery. I think it would be wide enough, it very deep, it won’t be affected by trains, the noise won’t affect the neighborhood and the city owns it! The construction won’t affect current fire operations and the parking can be moved to the area underneath the Harmony bridge.
I am not a flood expert, but I think the river is deep enough, so the area won’t flood, especially since We will have those two huge water diversion ponds (West Nile lakes #1 & #2) to minimize flooding.
The Counsel should think outside the box. Explore many sites. What about the Western Metals site. Move the condo project to the old fire station, and build on the Wester Metals site--maybe with TIF $$.
If you only consider a few sites then you really are limiting the City & the Fire Department’s options.

The High Cost of Babysitting
When my children were infants, my wife (who works full time) and I paid approximately $14,400 per year ($1,200/mo) for babysitting. We were very happy with our child care provider. I believe all child care providers are underpaid.
As our kids grew older and went to school, our babysitting costs decreased. We still paid for after school & summer child care. We are paying about over $5,000 (still money well spent).
When our kids get older and hopefully go to college, our child care bill will increase again (tuition, room & board, food, car insurance etc) Again money well spent.
Hopefully, after they get out of college (maybe grad school) we will stop paying for babysitting.
Until the grankids come, and then we will be the babysitters. I have no problem paying for our kids babysitting.
The Iraq Civil War costs about $300 Billion a year. There are appox. 80 Million taxpayers in the US
The current cost of Babysitting Iraq's Civil War is $3,800 per year, per taxpayer.
Iraq’s Civil War costs are off budget but are just added to the National Debt (with interest)
I guess my children’s babysitting costs will be much higher than mine!

Ten ways to make your wife happy in September I am not advocating for this lifestyle, I just choose it.
1. Clean the bathroom(s) At least once a month.
2. Buy everything on the grocery list. Not just the stuff on sale.
3. Make dinner (once in a while). (eg Spaghetti. Pork chops, homemade pizza, etc)
4. Once & awhile, tell the kids to take a bath or brush their teeth.
5. Vacuum (and move the furniture)
6. Do less blogging
7. Put your clothes in the hamper. Fold once and awhile (hopefully towels).
8. Pick up milk before it runs out. Check expiration date.
9. Say something like “this is a really good receipt. Could you make it again”
10. Clean out the van (even if it's not your car).
